Welcome to a workshop arranged by SLU Future Food and Forest Bioeconomy Network, aiming at promoting cross-sectoral exchange as well as interdisciplinary exchange on the topic of circular economy, and exploring the possibility for joint ventures in future bioeconomy calls.
What would forests and forest sector in the boreal area look like in 30 years, if all strategies on the EU table become reality? (EU forest taxonomy, EU forest strategy, EU green deal and SDGs). And how do we achieve the circular economy? How can research be used to ensure that decision makers do not draw the wrong conclusions and lock assets without understanding overall aims? How can an ambiguous discourse on circular economy be managed and maintained?
After three introduction and inspirational talks, discussions in breakout rooms will focus on questions like:
- Policy coherence and policy response – how is circular bioeconomy realized in the green sector? How does national policy relate to international (EU)?
- Drivers and Indicators of circular bioeconomy. What makes It happen? How do we know the transition is happening?
- Reversed value chain approach to developing sustainable circular bioeconomy? How to handle? How to include waste residuals?
