Function: Application Support Agent
Workplace: Brussels (European Commission – DG Sante)
Introduction / Context
As a full-time employee, you will be part of the Unit A4 support service team at the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (SANTE). You will be working for the Pesticides project, led by Unit E4 as the single point of contact between the end-users, business users and IT Team for the support on the following systems:
The EU Pesticides Database
The Plant Protection Products Application Management System (PPPAMS)
Key responsibilities:
End-user support via email including user access rights management;
Data entry in support to the business users in the EU Pesticides Systems;
Data extraction and generation of reports upon request;
Annual update of data on authorisations in Member States;
Preparation or update of training material including presentations for webinars, videos, and guides in collaboration with A4 and E4 teams;
Presentations and demonstrations of the systems to business users and externals;
Business Acceptance Testing of the new releases;
Support in preparation of analysis documents for the IT team.
Technical Requirements :
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel and Word;
Preferred academic background: Agronomy, Plant sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Health;
At least 1 year of professional experience with tasks closely related to those described above;
Experienced user of web-based tools;
Very good oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus;
Knowledge of/or experience in ITIL environment;
Knowledge of EU Policy on Plant Health;
Experience or knowledge of the Atlassian Suite (Jira and Confluence) or experience with similar collaborative tools.
