A delegation from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, led by Mr. Norbert Lins (EPP, DE), will visit Portugal on 19 – 21 September.
During the mission, agriculture MEPs will meet with Ms Maria do Céu Antunes, Minister of Agriculture of Portugal, as well with wine, fruit, vegetables and dairy producers to discuss organisation of the markets for these agricultural products, organic production, rural development or small-scale farming in the country.
Ahead of the mission Mr. Norbert Lins, Chair of the Agriculture Committee, said: “I am curious to hear and see how Portugal is dealing with the current and future challenges in the agricultural sector. I am also looking forward to meet the Portuguese Agricultural Minister Maria do Céu Antunes with whom we finalised the negotiations on the future common agricultural policy last year during the Portuguese presidency of the Council.”
Mr Lins will be joined by 8 other MEPs: Herbert Dorfmann (EPP, IT), Asim Ademov (EPP, BG), Marc Tarabella (S&D, BE), Jasger Christensen (Renew, DK), Ivan David (ID, CZ), Mazaly Aguilar (ECR, ES), Álvaro Amaro (EPP, PT), Isabel Carvalhais (S&D, PT).
