The European Commission has decided not to increase the minimum percentage of a farm’s arable land area that must be devoted to ‘Ecological Focus Area’ (EFA) in order to receive the full CAP Pillar One (P1) direct payment.
In a long-awaited report released yesterday (March 29), the EU executive outlined that in 2015 almost eight million hectares of land were declared as EFAs, accounting for 10% of the land under the obligation.
