The job:
· Your goal will be answering applied research questions through omics-based methods, helping our clients to develop more effective products and generate value to animal producers and consumers.
· As an Animal Science Consultant, you will lead omics-based projects with R&D teams from science driven companies, in collaboration with internal bioinformatics colleagues and external experts.
· You will analyze diverse omics and phenotypic data using advanced, yet user friendly bioinformatics tools, and collaborate with bioinformatics experts to answer questions of interest for our clients, develop new hypotheses, uncover novel insights, and communicate those findings through reports, manuscripts, and presentations in a manner that can be understood and applied by our clients.
· You will initially be contracted as a consultant for specific projects, with the potential of becoming a full-time employee.
The ideal candidate:
· You care about, and want to contribute to the animal nutrition and health industry.
· You are proactive, dynamic, a team player, and happy to take responsibility and ownership.
· You have applied experience in nutrition and health of farm animals, understand their physiology, and have used omics technologies to answer relevant applied questions successfully.
· You are excited by omics, scientifically inclined, and want to develop your skills in the area.
· You enjoy the challenge of solving problems and finding solutions independently through different avenues, including using scientific literature and academic/industry experts.
Qualifications
· PhD in animal science, veterinary science, or related fields.
